30 Days of Indie Travel- Day 19…SPIRIT

BootsnAll says: Some places have the power to make even the most die-hard agnostic reconsider their position. Have you ever been in a place where you felt more alive or more connected to nature, the universe, or a higher power than anywhere else?

I don’t believe in God. I do believe in the power of the universe, of nature.

Standing at the rim of the Grand Canyon, I felt this more than ever. Sometimes nature shows you just how powerful it is, more powerful than any human will ever be. It shows this by wiping out thousands of lives in a tsunami, by spewing lava out of a volcano, or by creating a canyon in the earth over millions of years.

Looking at this feat of nature’s engineering, I felt privileged to share this planet with scenes like this. Grateful to live on a planet with such a variety of landscapes and atmospheres that we somehow co-exist on, part of it.
