Random travel Tip #1 – The trusty doorstop
This little gem could make your next trip a little easier. I know it looks innocuous but it has many uses. Well, its uses mostly involve doors. Besides the obvious “holding a door open/at a certain angle” talent this piece of rubber possesses, it also comes in handy if you’re staying in accomodation with dodgy locks. This is the case in a lot of older hotels and hostels and sticking a doorstop under a closed door from the inside, while not rendering the door completely immobile, should prove enough of a deterrent for anyone trying to sneak into your room or at the very least may give you time to react to an intrusion. It won’t solve world hunger but for its small size and price, it can be a simple thing to bring to bolster your confidence.
